Wild Horses and Renegades

Interview with Emmy ® Award-winning director and filmmaker James Anaquad Kleinert about the release of his new film "Wild Horses and Renegades".

Film details the destruction of America's Wild Horse population on Public lands. James hopes the series of films will not only educate viewers about the disturbing, massive removal of our horses but inspire change to the future of these precious animals. The plight of the American Wild Horse serves as a powerful metaphor for what is occurring on so many levels of our society. That the American Wild Horse is fighting for its very existence is testimony to the fact that our country is facing environmental and economic crisis.

As Michael Blake, author of Dances with Wolves, said about Wild Horses and Renegades, "This is not just a film about wild horses. This is a film about what is happening to America."

Tough Mustang Grazing by Old Corral in Nevada Basin and Range

Eastern Nevada Mustang grazing in basin and range, quarter mile from old corral on private property of my friends in the prairie basin with a range of gossan hills (iron rich rock).

Photos were enlarged to see the rough and tough, fierce look of the mustang. We were driving by in a pick-up truck about 150 yards away, so there was no concern from us upon the horse. He never turned to look at us. He probably didn't even hear us, plus the wind was blowing away, crossways at a direction perpendicular to a line between us.

Our truck was not loud and we were moving moderate on the gravel-dirt road in the old ranch.

First two horse photos are the originals using camera zoom while pick-up truck was moving on a slightly bumpy gravel road.
